Have a look at these exercises on the SIMPLE PAST.  (Regular verbs + -ed ***** irregular verbs = second column (check at the end of the Student's book).

Remember: For questions and negative sentences, you need the auxiliary verb DID.

In the affirmative you don't need DID/ DIDN'T as an auxiliary verb.

Yesterday I went to school.
Yesterday I didn't go to school.
Did you go to school yesterday?

Last week I visited my grandparents.
Last weel I didn't visit my grandparents.
Did you visit your grandparents last week?
